Special Events Episcopal Night at the Astros - Friday, September 10 Get your tickets now! You and your friends will want to attend the pre-game BBQ at Christ Church Cathedral, then to start the game, Bishop Rayford High will throw out the first pitch! The Astors are playing the Dodgers. Settle in with peanuts and Cracker Jacks and root for the home team! Free parking is available at the cathedral garage. Tickets are available in the church office.
St. Christopher's Soccer Shootout - Saturday, October 9, 4 - 7 p.m.
Free Admission! Come to St. Christopher's soccer fields. The whole community is invited to participate in games and activities for all ages with referees, free hot dogs, free chips, and free bottled water.
Safeguarding God's Children Training - Saturday, September 11, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
For the protection of our young people, St. Christopher's Church and the Diocese of Texas require training for all staff and volunteers working with children or youth. The next training event will be offered on Sepember 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Latham Hall. To register for training, go to www.epicenter.org and click on Safeguarding God's Children. Rally Day and Ministry Fair - Sunday, September 12Come for a hot and hearty breakfast in Latham Hall beginning at 8:45 a.m. We will have only one woship service this day at 10 a.m. Children, bring your backpacks for blessing of the backpacks, and blessings on your school year. Meet your Sunday School Teacher and register for the 2010 Christian Education Year. This year's theme is "The Kingdom of God." As children of God we are all princes and princesses. Come and put on the Armor of God with us! Adults, visit all the Ministry Fair tables during breakfast, and after the worship service.
Game Night - Saturday, September 18, 6:30 p.m.
All are invited to come. Bring a snack. Bring a friend! Fun for the whole family. We have dominoes, board games, and card games, and you can bring along your favorite games.
Senior Bus Trip (50+ Folks) to the George H. W. Bush Library and Museum - September 20
We'll depart from St. Christophers by bus at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 20, and travel to College Station to visit the George H. W. Bush Library and Museum. We'll tour the musuem in the morning, enjoy lunch, and then we'll visit the Texas A&M Campus.
Thrift Shop Open House - Sunday, September 26, after Sunday Services
Come check out the Thrift Shop on Sunday, September 26, after the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services. The Thrift Shop is a great place to find bargains, but better yet, it's a wonderful way to reach out and give to the community. Learn about volunteer opportunities, and about how shop proceeds benefit community organizations like Houston Hospice.
Blessing of the Animals - Saturday, October 2, 10 a.m.
Bring your pets (dogs on leashes please) to be blessed by Father Bob in the outside chapel.
HAPI Pet Adoptions and Family Festival - Saturday, October 9, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.Homeless Animal Partnership Initiative (HAPI) will be at St. Christopher's Saturday, October 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come find a new best friend. Several animal rescue groups will bring adoptable pets. Children will enjoy a free bounce house and free face painting. Refreshments will be available for all.

The Pumpkin Patch is Coming October 16!The pumpkins are coming! We need YOU (everyone) to come unload the truck and set up the pumpkin patch on October 16. The Patch will be open October 17 to October 31. We'll have games and pumpkin fun for the whole family.
Trunk-or-Treat and Fall Festival - October 31
Kids will have a blast making the rounds through St. Christopher's Truck-or-Treating maze. Decorate your car, fill it with candy, wear your costume, and join the fun. Fall Festival fun and games for all ages will fill the Pumpkin Patch too.
The Great American Songbook - Saturday, October 23Featuring David Stevens and the Morris Nelms Quartet
An elegant night with Gershwin, Ellington, Porter, and more with Silent Auction. Doors open at 6:30 and the music begins at 7 p.m. Admission includes a light supper of hors d'oeuvres and desserts and one drink. Extra drink tickets will be available at the event. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Music Ministry of St. Christopher's Church. Call 713-465-6015 to purchase tickets today!
Vestry Elections - Sunday, October 17
The Vestry is the committee of lay people elected by the congregation to work with the rector and the diocese in managing the secular affairs of the church for three-year terms. Any member of St. Christopher's may serve as long as they are confirmed members in good standing. To nominate a candidate for a Vestry opening: 1) get permssion from the person you wish to nominate, and 2) contact Father Bob at 713-465-6015 for a nomination form.
